Character Introduction[edit | edit source]

Altemuller von Eigil is the field marshal in charge of the Rigüler army. He is deployed to invade Larcuss Kingdom early in the game. He is a recurring character who seems to play the role of a shogun in the affairs of the Riguler Empire. This is like the traditional shogun of Japanese history, who acted as a counterpart to the Emperor. He is next in line to the throne with his cousin Paul right behind him. This causes a lot of jealousy and friction between the two. He falls in love with Varna who is a Rigüler army general as well as his right hand woman. Varna was forced to act as a spy for Velzeria at the behest of Bozel, who has kept her younger sister, Anna, hostage. In order to help Varna rescue her sister, Altemuller pretends to be killed by Varna's poison drink and later showed up in an ambush attack which helped Dieharte's party defeat Bozel. During Sophia's ceremony to seal Langrisser and Alhazard, Geier launches a surprise attack under Paul's orders. Varna sacrifices herself to protect Altemuller and her sister, Anna. In a fit of rage, Altemuller seizes the still unsealed Alhazard and chases after Geier. With the previous Bozel vanquished, Altemuller is immediately consumed by dark power and became leader of the monsters as the new Prince of Velzeria. He uses Alhazard to exact revenge on Geier and Paul then uses its Mana channeling powers to raise Varna from her grave. Later, when Altemuller overcomes the control of Alhazard, his cousin Paul is selected by Chaos to become the next Bozel from the underworld.
