Biography[ | ]

Ledin is a Descendant of Light and the protagonist of Langrisser I. He is the prince of the Kingdom of Baldea. His father, King Illzach, has been tasked with safeguarding the Sacred Sword, Langrisser, as the royal family has done for generations. Kind but steadfast in his morals, Ledin has a strong sense of justice and is willing to fight for his ideals.

Story[ | ]

The events of Langrisser I begin when Kaiser Digos of the Dalsis Empire suddenly launches a siege against Baldea Castle. In the midst of the onslaught, King Illzach urges his son, Prince Ledin, to depart for Salrath and request aid from the dukedom's ruler, Duke Hawking. With the help of Volkoff, a veteran knight and chief vassal of the king, and Narm, the head of the Baldean Royal Guard, Ledin is able to escape the carnage, leaving his father to defend the castle.

Upon fleeing with their lives, Ledin and Volkoff hurry to Duke Hawking. It isn't long before Ledin encounters a small group of monks on a pilgrimage to Salrath. Among them he is introduced to Chris, a reserved and kind-hearted priestess-in-training. Concerned for their safety in an area known to be rife with bandit activity, Ledin and Volkoff offer to escort the group to their destination, staving off a Shika ambush along the way.

The group safely arrives in Salrath and meets with Duke Hawking. As a longtime ally and friend of Illzach, he readily agrees to assist Ledin and begins assembling his troops. That night, however, the same Shika bandits return to attack the village. After Ledin and his companions finally defeat the Shika, Narm arrives in the village looking shaken. She informs Ledin that Baldea has fallen, and the late King Illzach lost his life in the struggle. Distraught yet emboldened by the news, Ledin vows to liberate his home from the Dalsis in the name of his father.
