Biography[]
Egbert is the General of the Rayguard Empire's Black Dragon Sorcerers. He is the cunning and devious advisor to Kaiser Bernhardt, serving him even before Bernhardt's reign as emperor. Egbert is a powerful magician and genius tactician, earning him both fame and infamy. He is a former apprentice of Jessica.
Story[]
Elwin and his companions first encounter Egbert while meeting with Jessica. He is shown eavesdropping on the group when Jessica reveals the location of the Dark Rod, the item required for the empire to unseal the Cursed Sword Alhazard. Egbert quickly travels to Reitel, the holy land where the Rod is protected by ancient guardians. Though Elwin, Jessica and the others nearly have the Dark Rod within their grasp, Egbert steals it for himself, transporting away before the party can stop him.
